Hiii. Come sit with us for a second. 🤗
Something happened somewhere between the morning alarm and right now. The day got loud, the demands stacked up, the pace quickened, and somewhere in the middle of all of it you drifted a little from yourself. And the beautiful thing… the thing worth writing home about… is that returning is always available, always close, always beginning with something smaller and simpler than the mind expects.
Pick three of these today. Just three. Let them be the beginning of the return.
1. The sun has been showing up for you every single day without fail. Go sit in it for five minutes, face turned toward the warmth, eyes soft, agenda set aside. Let it remind you that something in this universe has always been pointing light in your direction.
2. Pick up a glass of water and drink it slowly, one sip at a time, with nowhere else to be. Full attention on the temperature, the weight of the glass, the simple act of nourishing yourself. This is what presence feels like — and presence is always available through the most ordinary things.
3. Before you respond to anyone today, take three deep breaths first. Let the pause be the practice, let the space between stimulus and response be where your wisdom lives. Everything patient and everything wise begins in that small, chosen gap.
4. Put the phone face down for one full hour and feel what rises in the quiet. Your life is happening on this side of the screen, in the texture of real moments, in the unhurried unfolding of an actual day. Give yourself the gift of being fully inside it for just sixty minutes.
5. Step outside barefoot and feel whatever is beneath your feet… grass, sand, soil, the cool concrete of your balcony. Let the earth make contact with you, let the sensation travel up through the body and land somewhere real. The ground has always been here, steady and patient, waiting for you to remember it.
6. Find a song that matches exactly how you feel right now, and let it play all the way through. Let the music meet you where you are rather than trying to fix or lift or redirect what you are carrying. That meeting… being truly met, is already a form of coming home.
7. Let yourself cry if the tears are there, without explaining them to anyone including yourself. The body has its own intelligence and its own timeline and it knows what it needs to release. Trust it completely and let the release be as long as it needs to be.
8. Look at the sky for two full uninterrupted minutes today, really look, let the eyes go wide and the breath go slow. Let the vastness of it recalibrate something inside you that the smallness of screens has compressed. There is always more room available than the day makes it seem.
We saw Peaches and it was quite an experience. We were upfront and got sprayed on with champagne by Peaches herself.
9. Eat one meal today in complete silence, tasting what is actually in front of you, arriving fully in the ritual of feeding yourself well. Put away everything else and let the meal be the whole thing. Nourishment received with full attention is one of the oldest forms of gratitude available.
10. Stretch your body and follow only what feels good, letting the body lead without a plan or a routine or a target. The body already knows what it needs if you give it a moment of real listening. This is more than exercise, this is conversation.
11. Take a long shower today and stay present with the sensation of the water the entire time. Let the mind rest, let the to-do list wait, let the warmth be the whole experience. The body comes home through sensation and the shower is always offering this if you are willing to receive it.
12. Put on something today that feels like an expression of who you actually are. Let the outside world match the inside one, even in this small way, even just for today. The way you dress yourself is a quiet daily act of self-recognition.
13. Find something textured today like wood, stone, fabric, grass… and hold it, feel it, let the fingertips register what is actually there. Sensation is the fastest road back to the present moment, faster than any thought or intention or plan. The body arrives instantly when the senses are given something real.
14. Open a window, let the fresh air move through the room, and take one long slow breath of something that just came from outside. The world beyond your four walls is always offering something clean and renewing. Receive it like the gift it has always been.
15. Make your bed this morning slowly and with full intention, smoothing the sheets with care, making the pillow placement deliberate. A made bed is a quiet act of respect for the person who will return to it tonight tired and in need of something welcoming. The small dignities compound over time into something that feels like self-love.
16. Light a candle and sit with it for a few minutes, watching the flame, letting the warmth and light be enough. Warmth and light chosen on purpose is a morning practice in itself, requiring nothing else. Let the simplicity of it be the point.
17. Choose one small area like a corner, a drawer, a surface… and tidy it until it feels calm. The outer world and the inner world are always in conversation, and a cleared surface has a way of clearing something interior too. Order in one small place creates the felt sense of order everywhere.
18. Go for ten minutes without headphones and let the world be your soundtrack today. The birds, the wind, the distant hum of the city, the sound of your own footsteps… all of it is information, all of it is presence. The world is always saying something worth hearing if the ears are given the chance.
19. Pick up a physical book and read a few pages slowly, letting someone else’s words set the pace for a moment. Let the mind slow down to a human rhythm, the rhythm of sentences built with care and read with attention. Something in the nervous system settles when we give it something linear and beautiful and real.
20. Speak to yourself kindly out loud today, actually say the words, let your own ears hear them. Say your name the way you would say the name of someone you love without condition or reservation. You have been listening to your own voice your entire life so make sure it is saying something worth believing.
21. Write one honest page in your journal today, or even just one honest paragraph, one honest sentence. Let it be uncurated, let it be imperfect, let it be exactly what is true right now without softening it for an audience. One page of truth is worth more than a hundred pages of performance.
22. Rest today without justifying it, without earning it first, without making it conditional on productivity. You are allowed to stop and the permission was always yours to give. The body that rests well is the body that builds well — rest is always preparation.
23. Cook something simple, warm, and comforting like a soup, a bowl of oatmeal, anything that asks your hands to be present for the making of it. Let the chopping and stirring and the smell of something warm be a meditation in themselves. There is something deeply grounding about feeding yourself with your own hands.
24. Choose one small task you have been sitting with and complete it today, fully, from start to finish. Feel the particular satisfaction of finishing something real. That clean, grounded feeling of a thing that is done. Completion is its own form of momentum.
25. Delete one app you open out of habit, just for today, and notice what rises in the space it leaves. That rising… the impulse, the reach, the slight discomfort is information worth having. Awareness of the habit is already the beginning of freedom from it.
26. Unsubscribe from one piece of content that consistently makes you feel rushed, behind, or less than. Your attention is a garden and you get to decide what grows in it. Tend it accordingly and watch what blooms when the weeds are cleared.
27. Make something today… anything… just for yourself, without posting it or showing it or making it useful to anyone else. Let the making be entirely its own reward, belonging completely to you. The creative act done in private, done purely for joy, is one of the most nourishing things available.
28. Look through old photos today, the ones that remind you who you are beneath the busyness and the becoming. The you that existed before all the striving has been continuous through every version you have lived. That person is still here, still intact, still entirely worth returning to.
29. Hug someone you feel safe with today and let the contact be full and real and unhurried. Let yourself be held for a moment and receive it rather than simply giving it. The body needs contact the way it needs air… consistently, genuinely, and without apology.
30. Ask yourself honestly what you need right now in this moment and then take one small step toward it. Just one step, real and concrete, in the direction of what is actually true. The body and the soul always know what they need and the practice is learning to ask and then to listen.
31. Forgive yourself today for being where you are instead of where you thought you would be by now. The path was always going to look like this… sideways and slow and entirely its own, and it is still going somewhere beautiful. The forgiveness is available right now and it costs nothing and it changes everything.
32. Move your body gently today without tracking time or distance or results of any kind. Move for the pure sake of being alive in a body that wants to be used with love and care and attention. This is movement as gratitude, the most sustainable kind.
33. Sit quietly for a few minutes and let your thoughts pass through like weather moving across an open sky. Watch without grabbing, notice without judgment, allow without the need to resolve. This is the whole meditation and it is always available in the next available moment.
34. Write down what you are truly feeling right now, name it plainly, let it be witnessed by at least one honest set of eyes (your own). The act of naming what is real inside you is one of the most grounding things available to a human being. It says: I see you, I am here, you are allowed to be what you are.
35. Breathe five slow breaths right now and let the exhale be long and complete, longer than feels natural at first. The exhale is the release and the release is the relief and the relief is always available through the breath. Five breaths, fully committed, is a complete practice in itself.
36. Write one sentence today that feels completely and undeniably true in this moment. Just one, chosen carefully, carrying the particular weight of something real. Truth has a feeling in the body when it lands and you will recognize it immediately.
37. Spend a few minutes near water today or simply listen to it — rain, a fountain, a recording, anything. Water has been calming the human nervous system since the very beginning and it still works every single time. Let it do its ancient, reliable work.
38. Go to bed earlier than usual tonight, even by thirty minutes, and let the extra rest be an act of care for tomorrow’s self. Rest is preparation for tomorrow’s clarity, patience, and creativity… and are being built in tonight’s sleep. The gift you give yourself tonight is the one you unwrap in the morning.
39. Let go of one expectation you have been gripping today, open the hand, feel what it is like to hold the day a little more lightly. Expectations are future suffering carried in advance of the thing itself. Release one and feel how much lighter the present becomes.
40. Notice one small thing today that brings you genuine comfort like the warmth of a mug, a particular quality of light, the sound of something familiar. The small comforts are the real ones and they have always been the real ones. Train the eyes to find them and they multiply.
41. Close your eyes right now and focus on your breath for sixty full seconds, nothing else. Just the inhale, just the exhale, just this. One minute of full presence is a complete and sufficient practice and it is always available to you.
42. Choose one routine task today — dishes, brushing teeth, making coffee — and do it with complete unhurried care. The ordinary done with full attention becomes something close to sacred. Slowness applied to the everyday is one of the most accessible forms of meditation available.
43. Notice how your body feels right now, just notice, without trying to change or fix or optimize anything. Witnessing without fixing is one of the deepest forms of self-respect available. The body relaxes when it feels seen rather than managed.
44. Allow yourself to feel tired today without pushing through it or apologizing for it. The body asking for rest is the body being honest and honesty from the body is always worth honoring. Tiredness acknowledged is already half of rest.
45. Revisit something today that once made you feel calm or inspired like a song, a book, a place, a practice. That thing still has something to offer you and going back to it is always an option. The sources of your peace are renewable and they are patient and they are always there.
46. Sit with yourself for a few minutes today with just you and the experience of being you, which is always richer and quieter and more interesting than the noise suggests. That meeting with yourself is the most important appointment of the day.
47. Say thank you to yourself today for making it through, for showing up, for continuing. You carried what you carried and you kept going and that deserves to be acknowledged with real tenderness. Gratitude given to yourself is the foundation from which all other gratitude grows.
48. Spend one moment today in complete stillness without needing it to produce anything or become anything. Let the stillness be whole and complete exactly as it is.
49. Write down three things that are already good today, small ones counting fully — the hot chocolate drink, the light, the fact that you are here, seeking this, reaching toward something better. That reaching is the evidence that something in you still believes, and belief is always the beginning. Build your day on what is already good and watch how much more good arrives.
50. Remind yourself today, as many times as it takes, that returning to yourself can be slow and gentle and entirely on your own terms. The return is always available after the hard season, after the drift, after the long loud day that asked too much. Every single time you choose to come back, you are choosing the most important thing.
That is the whole list, friend.
Fifty small doors back to yourself, any one of which is enough for today. Pick three. Let them be simple. Let them be real. Let them be the beginning of a return that is always, always possible.
Stay centered friend,
Because you were maybe just temporarily pointed in too many directions at once. Come back.
Begin again.
Peace & Love ❤️
You always can.
